The means of transportation par excellence for many people is the car, practically something basic if you have the economic capacity, but sometimes, as happens with our home, we are left without access to it, either by an oversight or any situation. This can really become desperate, especially if we are attending some kind of commitment that requires us to move quickly.  So that this doesn’t happen to you, here are 5 simple tips you can apply to avoid being left without access to your vehicle.

Have spare keys made

Make an agreement with an automotive locksmith service and ask for a duplicate key service, this besides being an excellent option if you have locked yourself out of the car, in case of loss or breakage will also be excellent for you.

Keep your keys on you

The main rule that the driver should always keep in mind is to never leave the keys inside the car. No matter where you are going or what you are doing, always keep them in your pocket or purse, or always have them handy when you go out. Many times it has happened that when you put them in the ignition to finish getting out of the car, the person is careless and they stay there.

As a tip, you can use a keychain to put them on, something that catches your attention enough so you don’t forget. Try colorful or shiny things.

Have a locksmith’s number

If it inevitably happened to you, you got locked out, you don’t have smart sensors to unlock the car, let alone duplicates of your keys, don’t get more complicated and hire a locksmith service. Knowing a good locksmith company can be your best ally before many situations that we live in daily, whether the problem is in your home or in your house, it is better to be cautious. This option will always be much more effective than contacting the vehicle agency.

Always use the remote control to lock the doors.

Another method that can be very useful is to lock the doors of your car with smart keys, some modern cars have controls that allow you to lock or unlock the car, if you do not have one, you can hire a locksmith service to help you install it.

You can keep the command in a place that you always have on you, such as a purse, wallet or in your pocket. That way, if you accidentally lose the key, you’ll know you’ll have an alternative.

Replace the batteries in the key fob

Sometimes people forget that their key fobs are rechargeable or battery operated and completely forget to replace or, if necessary, recharge the battery. This will obviously cause the system to fail at some point and you will be locked out. It is best to set alarms or a reminder to help you keep in mind the batteries or charge the device.

You should also keep in mind that, not only the key fob can become battery operated, many times inside the vehicle these failures also occur, preferably check the condition of both parts of the key fob to keep everything under control.
